NEW MUSIC: Kendrick Lamar “i” Video
It’s been awhile since I’ve featured new music. Maybe that speaks to the type of music that’s out right now???
Luckily, some of my favorite artists are back on the music scene; releasing new music, premiering new videos and gearing up to drop new albums in the coming months. One of those artist is Kendrick Lamar.
Last month he debuted his new single “i” and he recently released a video. While some love the song, which is about self-love and standing up for oneself when it seems like the world is out to get you, others aren’t a fan. Some think it’s too mainstream compared to his rap style we became used to on GKMC and his verse on “Control.” Personally, I like the song. I may be biased because I am a fan who has been waiting for him to release new music, but in the midst of all the crap music playing on the radio now, we need rappers like Kendrick to continue to provide songs about topics other than poppin’ bottles and thots or releasing music that sounds like a bunch of noise. Does anyone know what they are saying in “Lifestyle“?
