Top Fall 2014 Wearable Trends
It’s that time of year again! As you prepare to go shopping for new pieces to add to your wardrobe, below is a list of some of the top wearable trends for fall 2014 you may want to consider!
Plaid
The 90s influence is back! From skirts to blazers to coats, plaid pieces are popping up everywhere this season. This fall, consider plaid pieces in blue, red, black and white. They’ll be easy to incorporate into your wardrobe and transition from one season to the next without being outdated.
Chunky Knits
If this winter’s forecast is anything like last year, then chunky knits are going to be a wardrobe must have! They’re cozy and look great paired with jeans, leggings (if the sweater is tunic length), leather pants and boots.
Shades of Red
Get red hot this fall season! Runner up is blue; red and navy is a classic color combination to try too. From cocktail dresses to work place attire, red the color on the scene this season.
Leopard Print
Leopard print was all over the Fall 2014 runways earlier this year. It’s one of those prints that makes a trend report every other season or so. However, leopard print is never really out of style. It can be worn as a neutral; you can pair it with solid colors or go a little bold and mix it with other prints. I’m a fan of leopard print paired with stripes!
Monochromatic
This is one of my favorite trends of the season. Wearing one shade effortlessly is so chic! Check out the Elie Saab Fall/Winter 2014 Collection for inspiration! While an all black look is an easy way to wear the monochromatic trend, have fun with other colors like white, raspberry and grey, which is one of the most popular colors to wear a monochromatic look in this season.
Military Influence
Besides leather, military inspired pieces are another way to add a little edge to your wardrobe. I’m a fan of green jackets and pants that can be dressed up with heeled ankle boots or flat combat boots in the fall.
Swinging Sixties
Get flirty in mod dresses this season! That’s right, the sixties are back! The runway was filled with shift dresses in a variety of colors and prints. Pair your favorite shift dress with tights and knee high booties for a classic, but updated, sixties look!
Capes & Ponchos
Blame it on Olivia Pope, but capes and ponchos are more popular than ever before this season. Wrapping a poncho around your shoulders or sealing your outfit with a cape immediately takes it to the next level of chicness. This type of outerwear is the easiest way to dress up any outfit, no matter if you’re wearing flats or heels.
Which trends are you looking forward to wearing this fall?
This looks great Keri. Excited for Fall.

Check Macy’s for a cape. I got one last year for Christmas and a friend got a cape from there 2 years ago. And you know they always have coupons!
